The OLIVEUP project is expected to deliver a comprehensive set of scientific, technological, and practical results, with direct benefits for producers, the rural economy, and the natural environment.
A key outcome is the development and validation of innovative cultivation practice protocols that utilize biostimulants and Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) to improve fruit set and reduce fruit drop. These protocols will be implemented and evaluated in pilot fields, providing reliable field data and strengthening the transfer of know-how to producers.
In parallel, monitoring tools and Decision Support Systems (DSS) will be developed to guide the optimal management of inputs, contributing to reduced production costs and lower environmental impact. Particular emphasis will be placed on the dissemination of best practices through training activities, application guides, and collaborations with institutional and local stakeholders. This dimension will ensure the long-term utilization of results and enhance the project’s sustainability beyond the pilot phase.
Finally, the project will make a substantial contribution to the climate resilience of olive trees, reinforcing productivity, the economic stability of farms, and environmental protection within an increasingly demanding climatic context.
