Agri-Food Partnership of the Region of North Aegean “N. AEGEAN ISLANDS”

The Agri-Food Partnership of the Region of North Aegean is a non-profit civil company established in 2012 on the initiative of the Region of North Aegean, as a tool to support and develop the significant agri-food sector of the islands. The Partnership plays an institutional coordinating role between the Region’s public services, the market, and producers, acting as an “umbrella” for the North Aegean product basket – developing model high value-added services aimed at highlighting and protecting quality island products through synergies with tourism and gastronomy.

Dozens of businesses and institutions from all the islands of the North Aegean participate in the Partnership (over 60 founding members), representing all productive sectors – from olive growing and food to tourism and catering. Its core activities include the creation and certification of a unified “North Aegean” quality label and the implementation of “Local Quality Agreements” on each island, respecting tradition and the specific needs of each locality. At the same time, through dynamic public–private cooperation, the Partnership promotes a unified effort of all islands to showcase local products at the regional level, instead of fragmented individual actions.

Within the framework of OLIVEUP, the Agri-Food Partnership of the North Aegean plays a pivotal role in the dissemination and exploitation of results. Leveraging its extensive network of local producers, businesses, and institutions, it ensures that the innovations and best practices arising from the project are communicated and widely adopted by the island community. Its participation guarantees that OLIVEUP aligns with the strategic promotion of local products and contributes to enhancing the competitiveness and reputation of olive products from the North Aegean.
